Is Bigg Boss A Way To Whitewash The Many Sins Of Sajid Khan, Called Out As A Serial Sexual Abuser?

Big Boss 16’s notorious host, Salman Khan and the Colors Channel has welcomed with open arms filmmaker and comedian Sajid Khan, who’s accused of sexual abuse by not one, two or three, but nine women to date, on the show.

Make no mistake, Sajid Khan’s participation is the digital equivalent of flashing his dick to the world, especially to his victims.

An unholy account of Sajid’s sins and the heavy price women have to pay

Saloni Chopra, film journalist, recalls her horrific hiring interview with Sajid, and much more, in this piece. Here’s a sample of completely unrelated questions that Sajid asked her.

Do you masturbate? How many times a week? Have you been sexually abused? Would you ever get a breast job?

By the end of the interview, he left Saloni in tears. She got the job not as an ‘assistant director’ but as a ‘director’s assistant’. Or so she was told by Sajid Khan, who used to harass her with calls in the wee hours of the morning.

“If I didn’t pick up, I was told it didn’t matter to him if I was shitting or showering or having sex. When he called, I had to answer. He said the industry never sleeps and work happens at all hours… except he wasn’t talking about work. He’d ask me to send him my bikini photos because he needed to know how I looked if I wanted to become an actor.”

The torture didn’t end there for Saloni. He went on to gaslight her about her looks telling her she wasn’t sexy, alluring or have the ‘oomph’ factor. When Saloni asked what exactly he wanted from her, Sajid’s response was telling of how the dark industry works.

“This wasn’t about sex, it was about me being his little bitch and doing everything he told me to do. He’d name directors that keep actresses at their homes for months and that’s just how this works. He said he wants me to do everything he tells me to. Stay with him. Maybe he’ll ask me to touch myself in front of him. Maybe he’ll want to record it. He’ll do things to me and give me orgasm and teach me the art of sex, but maybe he won’t actually put his dick inside me. Maybe he will. If I thought casting couch was just about a one time sex, then I was foolish. No one would cast me unless I was ready to be their ‘keep’.”

The next day when she met him on the sets, Sajid acted like nothing had happened for half a day. Then he called her to his cabin to draft an article before making more ludicrous demands like to spread her legs and to touch his dick. When she refused, he flashed his genitals. Saloni was left with no other choice but to quit her job to save her sanity and self-respect.

What about the other women, you say? Here –

Jiah Khan’s sister, Karishma, shared how Sajid had asked Jiah to take off her top and bra during a script-reading session in the BBC Documentary, Death in Bollywood. Jiah said, “I have a contract, so if I leave, they can sue me and slander my name. If I stay, then I am sexually harassed. It was a lose-lose situation.”

Karishma also shared how Sajid made advances at her when was just 16 years, “I was wearing a strappy top and leaned at the table and Sajid was sort of staring and said ‘Oh she wants sex’. My sister Jiah immediately jumped to my defence and said, ‘No, what are you talking about?’, and he said, ‘Look at the way she’s sitting’.”

Many other women have called out similar atrocities by Sajid Khan, as this piece shows.

  • Sherlyn Chopra recalled how after her father’s death, Sajid Khan had flashed his penis asking her to feel it. He wanted to know if she’d seen any penis as endowed as his.
  • Sajid Khan asked actor Racheal White, an actor, to come to his bedroom and strip for him.
  • He’d also asked actors Mandana Karimi and Simran Suri to strip for him for the casting purpose. When Simran refused, he pulled down her top, and when she screamed, he asked her to lower her voice.
  • Aahana Kumra of Lipstick Under My Burkha fame shared how Sajid asked her if she would have sex with a dog if he gave her Rs 100 crore.
  • Sajid Khan flashed in front of Karishma Upadhyay, a journalist, during their interview.

Bipasha Basu supported these women and spoke about her experience working with Sajid Khan during Humshakals and how she found his attitude towards women disturbing.

Sajid Khan In Big Boss feels like a cunning agenda to whitewash a wolf as a sheep

It’s sickening to watch habitual offenders like Sajid Khan crying on national television for being out of work for 4 years. Really, now Sajid’s playing the victim card?

What more endorsement does an abuser like Sajid Khan need when the kingpin of Bollywood, bad boy Salman, takes him under his wings to turn his deeds from black to white in front of the world?

Look at the conniving strategy behind Sajid’s baptism in the show, in my opinion.

  • Get honest, credible, and internationally reputed celebrities like Abdu Rozik on the show. Sajid can cash in on the Tajikistani singer’s cuteness and borrow some of his popularity to whitewash his image.
  • Also get someone on the polarizing end like Gori Nagori, known for her raunchy dance performances to do the Menaka act in front of Sajid ‘Vishvamitra’ Khan. The world will see how unaffected Sajid Khan is by the temptations of seductresses like her.
  • Also, get someone popular like Shehnaz Gill, who’s currently riding on the sympathy wave because of Sidharth Shukla’s death, to root for her best bhai, Sajid. Give her some bread crumbing comments like “Yeh ladki badi star banne wali hain” to return the favour. The more the merrier, so let’s also throw in Kashmera Shah and Chunky Pandey too to add some more ‘baand-baaja’.

Chunky has said, “Sajid has always been this flamboyant person. What you see is what you get.”

Mr. Chunky Pandey, so now flashing your penis in front of unsuspecting women is not harassment but flamboyance? Please to STFU.

There’s also Jacqueline Fernandez, the common factor between the host Salman Khan and participant Sajid Khan. Has anyone not noticed the bro-code that exists in Bollywood and the entire world by now? The “bros before hoes” pact? With news of her involvement in the conman Sukesh’s case, these two powerful, entitled men can further cash in on bashing women like Jacqueline, who exploited their naivety and generosity to further their careers. Women will always be villainised by these demons. (I don’t want to insult wolves and other animals by equating these evil men to them.)

Talking of bro codes, how magnanimous of John Abraham to slash his fees for his next movie with Sajid Khan.

Finally, there was no apology or mention of the #MeToo allegations against Sajid Khan in his Big Boss intro, because of course, he’s a man first, and then also a successful director.

What was COLORS TV thinking, and what is the message that it’s sending to the nation—that abusing women is okay? Is it only about the money all the time?

We need to speak against sexual offenders of all colours

I know that there’s a power imbalance between women like Shehnaz Gill, Kashmera Shah or even Jacqueline Fernandez and lecherous powerful men like Salman Khan, Mahesh Bhatt, Sajid Khan, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Anurag Kashyap, Kailash Kher, Subash Ghai, and more.

But I also know of women who made the tough choice to do the right thing. Sona Mohapatra, Sapna Bhavanani, Janice Sequeira, Pooja Misrra, Bipasha Basu, and Tanushree Dutta spoke against sexual offenders at the cost of their careers. These are the real Dabangg heroes of Bollywood, not the testosterone steroid pumped up ‘bhais’ pretending to be human and woke.

Sona Mohapatra went through the most hideous, horrible, premeditated trolling including death threats, gang rape threats, and literally sh*t coming in dabbas into her studio because she had called out Salman Khan for his misogynistic statements. She was morphed onto porn sites.

Women supporting these powerful sexual abusers in the industry need to realise that eventually these same men will drop them like a hot potato when they’ve taken all the favours from them. These evil, narcissistic men think women are entitled to serve them with all kinds of favours. We’ve seen the fate of Parveen Babi. We’re seeing what’s happening to Jacqueline Fernandez. Can we trust any man in the industry? Do we need more reasons to speak up?

What Bollywood needs right now is a revolution from the women artists and technicians in the industry, much like the dissent in the Malayalam film industry by Parvathy Thiruvothu, Revathy, Sajitha Madathil, Geetu Mohandas and Rima Kallingal.

We need to speak up against evil NOW even if it’s not the easy road, because as Sona Mohapatra says, “That constant dealing with trolling and negativity is not easy. It is not something I enjoy. But it is still worth going through because it does slowly change things because conversations change the world.”
