Hola! I´m Tina! How about You?

author1

A Warm Welcome to my blog!

For those of you who don´t know me – I´m Tina Sequeira from Hyderabad. This is my new site ´The Tina Edit´. It was born in July this year and I made a public announcement of the same in August, once I was done with the design, logo etc. There are still certain aspects that I need to work on but I should figure it out soon.

A little bit more about me – I am a passionate, focussed and independent person. I like to mind my own business and appreciate the same in return. At the same time, I love mingling with people and having fun getogethers. I´d like to believe that I have imbibed the best traits of my parents – The strength and grace of my mother and the wit and wisdom of my father. The reason I blog today is because of my younger brother who egged me onto join the bandwagon way back in 2006 when blogging wasn’t even a thing. I have younger twin brothers who are always mistaken to be my elder brothers thanks to the significant difference in height and my ever cherubic face.

Intelligence and kindness is what draws me to a person. That is the best explanation that I can give as to why I was attracted to my husband in the first place and chose to marry him. I absolutely love being a mother despite the fact that it can be very overwhelming at times. Motherhood has definitely changed me in many ways. It has brought out the ferocious Lioness in me who is always on her guard, protecting her little cub from any possible attacks from anywhere. It makes you want to be that strong role-model for her and the light when she´s in the dark.

I am a firm believer in maximising your talents for the greater good of the society that we live in. I don´t think our lives should merely revolve only around the family. As individuals, if we can expand our emotional sphere from the Í´ (self) and ´We´ (family) to Ús´ (the society at large), we will be living in ´Heaven on Earth´ itself. The news of the suicide of a married woman because of the harassment of her in-laws should bother us as if it happened to one of our own? The moral policing of women during the New Years Eve revelry in Bangalore should affect us as if it happened to one of our own kind. The ugliness in our society is our responsibility, not others. I believe each one of us can use our unique talents to make a real change in the world that we live in.

On that note, I would like to thank BlogChatter from the bottom of my heart for being shining examples of having a large emotional sphere ..for making a significant difference in the lives of so many writers.

Today marks the final quarter of 2017 and the month long #MyFriendAlexa campaign hosted by BlogChatter.

My current Alexa Rank globally is 4,040,370 and in India, it is 1,67,693 as on 1 Sep 2017.

Apart from boosting the Alexa rank of my site, another reason for me to take part is also to connect with fellow writers. I have met quite a number of writers in this one year and I´m also looking to know more and learn something new from them. I genuinely believe that there is something to learn from everyone you meet. I know a couple of wonderful bloggers from Blogchatter and have met the ones who stay in Hyderabad – Romila, Atul,  and Sherna.

I would really appreciate it if you can drop in a line or two about yourself and we can get started after our introduction.

  1. Ah Tina, you’re the third Tina I’ve met in the Blogosphere and if I’m not mistaken the third Tina at WriteTribe ( I assume from your #MondayMusing that you are a member too). Well, pleased to make your acquaintance. Even though I’m an old ( granny) and old ( since 2008) blogger, I’m still all at sea and trying to figure things out. So don’t worry – it’s a lovely learning curve which I’m sure you will enjoy being on.

  2. Hey Tina – lovely to make your acquaintance and love your crisp writing style! I have been blogging since 2009 but truly got into a serious mode since last mode when I went self hosted. Congrats on taking the plunge and just go easy with it. You will learn as you write along. Blogging is a great way to meet many terrific writers and I wish you all the best of luck with this venture.

    • Hi Dr. Amrita! It´s always great to see you in here. The second time, I think. Yes, I love shopping in Hyderabad too..and I know what you mean.. the famous pearls and Lac bangles…I own a couple of them myself…can be a bit loud,,the bangles…but Hey, We´re Indians…we are big on everything…from hearts, food, fashion…lol. Sure, the prompt sounds very interesting considering it is in the parenting genre. Will surely give it a shot today. Absolutely, I believe writing is a transformative experience both for the writer and reader. 🙂 Keep stopping by! Hugs!
